Diagnosed with ALD two weeks after birth Matthew was the “4th Aidan Baby” – the fourth New York newborn diagnosed with ALD since passage of the state's version of Aidan’s Law in 2013. Today Matthew is getting bi-annual MRIs to check for brain lesions and is taking Lorenzo’s Oil, which can delay ALD symptoms for years. Matthew is being treated, successfully, for adrenal insufficiency (a co-condition of ALD). His mother Lindsay reports her son is otherwise healthy. Matthew turned 2 this year.
